This new home is has a welcoming farmhouse feel. The client needed lots of functional, family-friendly spaces and wanted to add some unique, vintage details to create a relaxed and rustic atmosphere. The rooms are open and bright with lots of texture and tone in a mix of materials. 

 

We love to work with local craftspeople to create custom elements. In the kitchen we have a beautiful hand-made farm table in a unique gray/blue textured paint finish and (faux) beams on the ceiling. They look SO real! Tons of cabinetry in ivory and a navy island give this family a comfortable gathering space.

 

In the family room we installed reclaimed wood from a barn in Pennsylvania in the ceiling coffers to create a warm feel. A salvaged beam for the mantel and beautiful stonework makes the fireplace the focal point. A hand knotted rug in beautiful gray-blue tones completes the color palette creating a welcoming room for the whole family.
